Fidelity Doubles Internet Speeds for Most Rolla Customers

For thousands of Rolla customers, Fidelity’s high-speed Internet service just got even faster.
Cable modem customers on all four packages saw their download speeds jump January 6—at no additional charge. Two packages doubled in speed and one actually tripled.
Download speeds on the most economical package went from 1 Megabit to 1.5 Megabits per second. Download speeds on the next fastest package doubled to 3 Meg from 1.5 Meg.
The existing 3 Meg package doubled to 6 Meg, and customers with a 5 Meg connection saw their download speed triple to a sizzling 15 Meg.
High end customers also saw their upload speed—for posting items to the Internet—
double to 1 Meg from 512 kbps. Upload speeds on the other packages remain at 512 kbps.
“Fidelity Communications recognizes that Internet customers want more and more speed for streaming video, faster web surfing and quicker downloads of files, music clips and photos,” said Lori Adams of the Rolla office. “Everybody wants everything faster, including gamers, online shoppers and people who use social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. The online world is ever changing.”
With the higher download speeds, they can do all of these things quicker than ever before, he said. “We are constantly upgrading our network and are pleased to be able to offer these higher speeds at no increase in price,” Adams noted.
Cable modems provide a blazing fast, reliable, constant connection to the Internet. The slowest connection on cable is ten times faster than fastest dialup connection.
Cable modems use a direct connection from the existing TV cable in your home. Access time is unlimited. The Internet is always on unless you turn it off.
